       The International Invention Exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany (iENA) was founded in 1948. It is the oldest and most authoritative international invention event in the world, ranking first among the three major invention exhibitions in the world. The award-winning works enjoy international reputation and are recognized by well-known companies and universities around the world. The 78th edition will be held in Nuremberg, Germany at the end of October this year.
       In order to discover and cultivate outstanding scientific and innovative talents in the Greater Bay Area and promote young people’s creative achievements to the world, the Association was invited by the China Division Organizing Committee of the 78th Nuremberg iENA Invention Exhibition to go to Li Zucun, Yiwu to participate in the China Regional Selection Competition from July 29th to 31st. This national competition received a total of nearly 800 entries from more than 20 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, Fujian, Yunnan, Ningxia, Xinjiang, and Inner Mongolia. The qualification threshold is extremely high, and the award proportion is 10% for first prize, 20% for second prize, 50% for third prize, and the remaining 20% will not win. The competition is fierce, and only the first and second prize works selected from the provincial competitions can advance to the national competition. Due to site conditions, only nearly 180 outstanding works were invited to participate in the exhibition.
       Li Baiqiang, president of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Innovation and Invention Association, the Macau Innovation and Invention Association, and the Macau International Idea Innovation and Incubation Association, led a group of 15 teachers, students, and parents from the Bay Area to participate in the competition with five innovative invention works. He was also appointed as the deputy director of the organizing committee and the head of the jury. The conference also invited four teachers, including He Zhongliang, Cao Yubao, Peng Guoqiang and Zheng Bowen, to serve as judges.
       After strict professional review, all five works stood out and won the first prize in the national competition. The winning works include: "Fire scene escape and evacuation mechanical dog" by Zhan Juncheng, Liang Lexi and Zhu Ruizhe of Peizheng Middle School Coloane School (tutor: Li Baikeng); "Portable smart sterile infusion device" by Zhu Yuelin and Kong Fanlin of Zhuhai No. 2 Middle School (tutors: Cao Yubao and Gan Jiancheng); "Portable Foldable Infusion Device" by Qiu Zizhen and Liu Mingxuan "Stacking Drawing Boards" (tutors: Peng Guoqiang, Li Qiqi); Zhuhai Sidi Technology Education Center's work "Powerless Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Prevention Device Based on Energy Capture of Internal Combustion Engine Flameout Wire" (tutor: He Mengjun), Li Linxuan and Tian Yuchen's work "Photosynthesis, Respiration, and Fermentation Multifunctional Teaching Experimental Device" (tutor: He Mengjun).
It is reported that the works that win the first prize in the country will directly be recommended for the global finals of the 78th iENA International Invention Exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany.
       The location of this event in Lizu Village, Yiwu has far-reaching significance. As a model of rural revitalization and international cultural exchange, Li Zucun received an inspection and investigation by General Secretary Xi Jinping on September 20, 2023. Its “ agricultural innovation + cultural innovation + scientific innovation” integrated development model has injected the spirit of the times into the event.
